Vans Warped Tour 2015
July 19th, 2015
Holmdel New Jersey
The fresh faces of Lynn Gunn, Alex Babinski, and Brian MacDonald, bring a new spin into the world of rock and alternative music. Described as synthpop, psychedelic, rock & post hardcore, Pvris has made a name for themselves. From the band’s start in 2012, they skyrocketed in 2014 at Vans Warped Tour being moved up to the Main Stage from the Ernie Ball Stage. Coming back to Vans Warped Tour in 2015, Pvris became Warped Tour Veterans tearing it up on the Main Stage along with Pierce the Veil, Miss May I, Asking Alexandria, and Memphis May Fire.
Pvris’ first full length album “White Noise,” travels through your speakers into your ears with psychedelic infused rock easing you from one song to the next. Starting off with a simple drum beat in “Smoke,” it picks up with guitar and bass filling the empty space in your headphones. With Lynn Gunn’s vocals taking control of the song, you can feel the emotion filling her voice with each song. Following “Smoke,” is one of the smash hits off of the album “St. Patrick.” Accompanied with a kaleidoscopic music video, leading in with a haunting sound of keyboards, it jumps in full force to the rest of the song. Consistently throughout the record you are smacked in the face with the raw emotion of Lynn Gunn’s vocals, the strong vibrations in Brian MacDonald’s bass playing, and Alex Babinski’s melodic guitar playing in the background making you want to head bang and sway to the music all at once.
Even though they are already on the map, Pvris is a band to watch for. With their haunting melodies that resonate within you even after listening to their album “White Noise.” Somehow they always leave you wanting more, and Pvris fans will soon get more, as hinted by Gunn from their BBC Radio 1 show, that they might be having a deluxe edition of “White Noise” coming out soon with some “top secret tracks people may not have heard before.” Giving fans some new music to keep them occupied until their next album. You can buy their album on iTunes, Amazon, and anywhere else you buy your music, and you can stream it on Spotify and Apple Music.
